When I decided to relearn GURPS 3rd Edition, I started where many people do, GURPS Lite. It seemed like the obvious choice. The rules were shorter, easier to digest, and less intimidating than jumping straight into the full game. Then I started running actual adventures. After posting my first fantasy dungeon crawl, experienced GURPS players kept telling me the same thing: if you want to learn GURPS, stop using Lite and start using the Basic Set.
At first I wasn’t convinced. BUT in this video, I talk about why I started with GURPS Lite, what worked, what didn’t, and why I eventually moved on to the full GURPS 3rd Edition rules.
