This episode was a lot of fun. and I think I am starting to find my stride so to speak with this series. I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but using Tricube Tales made the game smooth. The rules are so much fun for that game it literally fades into the background for me.
Today I’m finally putting the FourFold Engine back on the table. I originally tried this system in a WWII type video and I wasn't happy with the end results, so I needed to go back to the drawing board to redo it.
So I finally pulled the trigger and got myself a copy of these rules in paperback (as well as PDF), you can get yourself a copy at DrivethruRPG, and a small tip, if you hit the preview button, you can see the entire ruleset and the author encourages you to look before you buy. I also picked up the Advanced rules, to see if I can add something later on.
GURPS Religion looks like a fantasy religion toolkit at first glance, but I wanted to see how well it works for a modern horror campaign. In this video, I use GURPS Religion for 3rd Edition to build the Ordo Dei, the hidden order behind my Ethan Cole horror game.

Welcome to a new solo GURPS Horror campaign. Ethan Cole returns to the small town of Tuxville after the death of his father. What should have been a simple trip home quickly turns into something far stranger. A break-in, a missing necklace, a mysterious photograph, strange tracks in the woods, and questions nobody seems eager to answer. Using GURPS 3rd Edition and a solo game master emulator, I follow the clues as Ethan begins uncovering secrets hidden beneath this quiet Pennsylvania town. What happened to his father? Who broke into the house? And why was an old photograph left behind? This is Episode 1 of an ongoing solo horror mystery campaign. Each episode will be a self contained story, like an episode of a TV show over a season.
Let's be honest, do you really need a detailed town map for Solo or group play?
Well in this video I will go over my method in this process and let you decide if it is better or worse. Tracking every street, building or distance or just a bunch landmarks with connected lines. Does it really matter when it comes down to a town if something is this far away on this street? 85% of the time it really doesn't matter at all. The town square. The church. The sheriff's office. The old abandoned house on the edge of town. These are the places where the story happens. I'll show how a simple collection of circles and connecting lines can give you everything you need to run a solo campaign while keeping your focus on characters, mysteries, and adventure instead of cartography. If you've ever felt stuck trying to create detailed maps before you can start playing, this approach might help.

When I decided to relearn GURPS 3rd Edition, I started where many people do, GURPS Lite. It seemed like the obvious choice. The rules were shorter, easier to digest, and less intimidating than jumping straight into the full game. Then I started running actual adventures. After posting my first fantasy dungeon crawl, experienced GURPS players kept telling me the same thing: if you want to learn GURPS, stop using Lite and start using the Basic Set.

I know some people have expressed interest in the Land of the Crown Fantasy Solo and I am going to get those up in 2026. Canceled, didn't go as planned.
I've had the flu for the past week or so, and it killed my voice, the video I did (Punisher Solo) I had to pause so many times because I THOUGHT I was better, but apparently not. I was still coughing and my throat got so dry, towards the end my voice was cracking.
Circling back to 1, I also need to nail down the rules set I want to use, I was originally going with BF, but decided against it. I play that with my regular group constantly and I am kind of burned out on it.
End of the year is upon us, and work is busy as we bust butt to finish up projects and such, so I've been doing a bunch of Overtime. Luckily I've had the option to work from home during this time, as they feel end of year stuff gets done faster when people are at home. Who am I to argue? Plus I'll be celebrating Christmas with the folks and family, so gaming will be taking a backseat. Family is important to me.
Video presentation: I also am trying to figure out what's better for me, using the desktop video and handwrite everything or use my PC with a Virtual Table Top. Personally I like the VTT method better as my handwriting sucks and its also an easily step process for getting videos out. With the desktop, I have to use my phone, then send the video, convert it, then edit it.
Traveller. I've had a few people suggest I play Traveller, while I've played classic once or twice in the past, that was many years ago. I am also torn between using Classic or the new Mongoose one. Suggestions?
Western Solo. I love the Old West setting and I love Westerns, especially the Spaghetti Westerns, and I was thinking of doing one. Thoughts?
I think I might do a video on my D8 Anywhere system I created like 8 years ago or so, and I use it for quick solo games. I think it would be fun to show folks how easy the game system can be. Interested?
Taco Casa is probably the best fast food Tacos a man can get, and sadly they are only here in Texas. Yall are missing out. ;)
I am going to attempt another video this week or weekend, see how my voice holds out and if I am coughing.
I'll say no more, except, Happy Holidays!
